Gentle Precision – Minimally Invasive Tongue Tie Release Procedure

How the Procedure Works

At Oceans, we prioritize a seamless and gentle approach to the correction of tethered oral tissues. Our state-of-the-art procedure, conducted with a CO2 laser, ensures a quick and minimally invasive experience for both infants and children. The precision of the laser allows for minimal bleeding, eliminating the need for stitches. Remarkably, patients can resume eating and drinking immediately after the procedure. For our little ones, a topical anesthesia ensures comfort, while older children benefit from the option of N2O (laughing gas) to ease any nerves, coupled with a small amount of local anesthesia. Our commitment is to make the journey to oral freedom as smooth and stress-free as possible for every child.

Before & After Results

Advantages of Ocean’s Laser Frenectomy include:

  • improved bite function
  • improved speech function
  • aesthetics, reduced spacing
  • in infants, improved feeding by allowing proper latch
  • opening blocked airways
  • decreased decay due to tongue’s ability to spread saliva and clean the mouth

Disadvantages of Doctors who use a surgical scissor to “snip” the tissue:

  • bleeding, requires local anesthetic to control
  • stitches
  • longer healing time/discomfort
  • more scar tissue with healing

Incredibly thankful to have been referred to this fairytale aquatic playground DBA a dental office and Dr. Aimee is definitely the Queen of her castle. Dr. Aimee has been incredible to work with – even before we decided to move forward in the tongue tie release she performed on my son. She answered a ton of questions, she called us, texted us. We were never made to feel a burden. She has remained incredibly accessible to us throughout the recovery process – calls, texts, picture exchanges. She has immeasurably helped our family get through a tough tribulation and we highly, highly, highly recommend! Thank you so much, Dr. Aimee!

Dr. Aimee is awesome. She took care of my son’s lip and tongue tie revisions and was thorough, calming, and knowledgeable. She is a mom herself and her openness with her own experience put me at ease. She is gentle and kind and I highly reccomend taking your child to see her if they are struggling with latch, feeding, reflux issues that could be a result of ties. Her office staff is also wonderful, including her assistant Stephanie and their front desk. Very friendly and professional.

We went to see Dr. Aimee when my son was 2 months old. He was having horrible reflux, colicky, and trouble latching and eating. Within a few minutes of checking him out she identified a lip and tongue tie. We returned the following week and had it corrected. The procedure was very quick and Dr. Aimee called us that night to check in. We sent her photos to make sure he was healing properly and she continued to check in. Within a few days we saw the inconsolable crying stop. He immediately starting latching better and eating more. Within a month he was a totally different baby. It was the best decision we could’ve made for our sweet baby!
